About the role:
As the Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and implementing a high-quality, inclusive curriculum that reflects the interests, strengths, and needs of all children. Working collaboratively with the team, you will provide strong support for children’s developmental needs and foster positive relationships with families and professionals. You will also assist the Nominated Supervisor in a 2IC (Second-in-Charge) capacity, contributing to leadership, mentoring, and day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Nominated Supervisor in Developing and implementing a responsive, play based curriculum aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF).
* Use intentional teaching practices to extend children’s learning based on their emerging interests, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
* Work collaboratively and respectfully as part of a dynamic team, contributing to a positive workplace culture.
* Support the Nominated Supervisor with leadership tasks, including guiding educational practice, mentoring educators, and contributing to the service’s Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
* Partner with families through ongoing communication, collaboration, and respect for their role in their child’s learning journey.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.
This is a Full-time Permanent role working 76 hours per fortnight. RDOs

To be considered you will have:
* An Early Childhood Teaching approved qualification (i.e. Bachelor of Teaching or Education)
* Teacher Accreditation - NESA
* A current First Aid Certificate approved by ACECQA that includes applying first aid, emergency asthma management and anaphylaxis
* Identify & Respond to Children at Risk of Harm Certificate
* A valid Working with Children Check
* A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a childcare environment
* Sound, practical working knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework
* Demonstrated experience in curriculum development and documenting children’s learning
* The motivation and ability to inspire and maintain a positive learning culture within the centre
WORKING WITH CHILDREN'S CLEARANCE
SCECS is a Child Safe Organisation dedicated to the Protection of every child in our care. SCECS aims to create environments where children’s safety and wellbeing is the centre of thought, values and actions. This role requires a WWCC clearance prior to commencement of employment.
