An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified nurse to join the Buckingham and Winslow Health Visiting Team based at Buckingham Hospital, working with families and carers of children under five. This post is part-time, working 30 hours a week. The successful candidate will support the Health Visitors to deliver the Healthy Child Programme, gaining and developing skills within a diverse local community, public health, and the children’s agenda.
Main duties of the job
* Working with clients in various community settings such as home, clinic, family centre, and educational establishments.
* Undertake Family Health Needs Assessments as directed by the Health Visitor or School Nurse, ensuring prompt feedback of all client contact to line manager.
* Assist in implementing and prioritising health promotion, education, and prevention programmes for individuals, families, and groups.
* Conduct child and family health assessments, including screening, in line with the Healthy Child Programme and local guidelines, reporting any health issues.

Person specification
Education, Qualifications & Training
* Registered Nurse with NMC PIN or awaiting registration.
* Evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Working towards an NMC-approved mentoring qualification.
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
* Strong communication skills, negotiation abilities.
* Ability to manage caseloads with supervision.
* Willingness to undergo training, including medication management.
* Basic IT skills and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct.
* Ability to maintain a safe clinical environment, adaptable to change, and work rotating shifts.
* Diplomatic, flexible, approachable, and interested in developing teaching skills.
* Awareness of clinical governance, care planning, reflection, and supervision.
Experience
* Understanding of current nursing issues.
* Appreciation of audit and quality improvement processes.
