Previous experience of working within a similar operation is preferred but not essential.

Specific Duties
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions, critical to the successful performance of the position:
1. Be aware of the hotel’s layout and facilities.
2. Ensure all rooms match the lists provided, reporting discrepancies immediately to the housekeeper.
3. Collect laundry and deliver it to the linen room.
4. Remove all trays from rooms.
5. Open all windows in rooms.
6. Place all dirty linen in skips provided.
7. Collect clean linen as needed.
8. Identify reject linen and store separately for return to the linen room.
9. Complete one room at a time to the highest standard and according to the room specification.
10. Empty rubbish into black bags and remove to service rooms.
11. Understand the cleaning schedule and ensure the correct cleaning products are used at all times.
12. Clean bathrooms thoroughly, including basins, baths, toilets, mirrors, tiles, and floors.
13. Put clean towels in bathrooms, folded correctly.
14. Replenish toiletries as per room specifications.
15. Dust all furniture in bedrooms.
16. Vacuum bedrooms and corridors daily, including cleaning fire doors and brasses.
17. Clean the service room daily.
18. Carry out the ‘Job of the Day’ to the highest standard.
19. Immediately hand lost property to the Head Housekeeper, noting time, place, and date.
20. Report all maintenance faults to the Head or Deputy Housekeeper.
21. Ensure rooms are supplied with adequate stationery and hotel information as per room specifications.
22. Correct any mistakes given by the Housekeeper and return items at the end of the shift.
23. Understand all fire and emergency evacuation procedures and observe health and safety regulations.
24. Maintain a smart and clean uniform at all times.
25. Attend departmental meetings and participate when appropriate.
26. Attend training sessions as requested, including COSHH, health, and safety training.
27. Adhere to hotel policies on cash, keys, and controls consistently.
Other
* Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.
* Comply with The Forest of Arden Hotel policies and procedures.
* Work hours as required, normally not less than contracted hours.
