Salary & Benefits
Salary between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications. 45 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Teacher's Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, professional and personal development opportunities, and access to college courses. (Note: Salary and leave entitlement are for a Qualified Lecturer.)
Hours & Contract
37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year. Permanent full‑time contract. Requires right to work in the UK; no sponsorship available.
About the role
Lecturer in Media to join the Creative Arts department at The Bedford College Group. Responsibilities include teaching, assessment, curriculum development, safeguarding and collaboration, with a SEND/EHCP focus.
Responsibilities
* Inclusive Media Teaching (UAL Entry Level Focus): deliver engaging, project‑based lessons, use adaptive strategies.
* SEND & EHCP Learner Support: provide tailored support and work with teaching assistants.
* Assessment, Progress & Quality Assurance: assess against UAL criteria, track progress, contribute to verification, SAR, and QIP.
* Curriculum Development & Enrichment: develop entry level Media and broader Creative/Digital provision, embed core skills.
* Safeguarding, Professional Practice & Collaboration: uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety, maintain records, engage in CPD, collaborate across teams.
About you
* Qualifications & Subject Knowledge: hold a teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed) or willing to achieve; relevant Media/Creative/Digital qualification or equivalent experience.
* SEND & Inclusive Practice: experience with SEND/EHCP learners, understanding safeguarding, inclusion, differentiation, adaptive strategies.
* Teaching, Behaviour & Engagement: confident classroom management, ability to adapt approaches, support positive behaviour.
* Communication, Teamwork & Digital Skills: good communication, collaboration, basic digital/media skills.
* Professional Values & Flexibility: patient, empathetic, learner‑focused, committed to CPD, reliable, professional, willing to work across sites and support wider college activities.
