Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Bury St Edmunds | Up to £52,000 per year
Position 1 Recruitment is seeking aMechanical Maintenance Engineerto join our clients team in Bury St Edmunds. This role offers a proactive and driven individual the chance to work with large-scale industrial processing and production equipment.
The business offers:
* Salary: Up to £52,000 per year plus bonus: 5% KPI-based (eligible after 6 months)
* Pension: Company match up to 8% of your salary

* Holiday: 240 hours/year (pro rata)
Shift Pattern: Full-time, 42 hours/week, Panama shift (days & nights) 6 till 6.
* 3 days, 2 nights, 5 off
* 2 days, 2 nights, 5 off
* 2 days, 3 nights, 4 off
Mechanical Maintenance EngineerResponsibilities:
* Carry out preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on production equipment
* Repair machinery in production, processing, and utilities to keep things running smoothly
* Help install and commission new equipment
* Keep accurate maintenance records and paperwork up to date
* Take part in the BOPEX continuous improvement program
* Follow all safety rules, company policies, and regulations
* Be flexible for on-call and out-of-hours work when needed
The successful Mechanical Maintenance Engineerwill have:
* Experience in a heavy industrial environment
* Strong mechanical skills in material handling, conveyors, pneumatics, and hydraulics
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety protocols (Lock Out Tag Out, Safe Isolation, Working at Height, Permit to Work, Confined Space, ATEX/DSEAR)
* Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)
