As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a HGV Class 1 Driver to join the team on a permanent basis.
Job Purpose
To be primarily be responsible for the night trunking operation from Chard depot to the central distribution hub.
Main Responsibilities
* To drive a Category C+E Vehicle
* To report to the Operations Director
* Build a strong relationship with the Network Night Operation, Operations Staff and Other Drivers
* Complete and update relevant paperwork
* Maintain the safety and security of the load
* report and issues around loading, planning and routing to the traffic office
* Operate all vehicle systems including tail lifts, pallet trucks and in cab technology
* Carry out all necessary checks and follow appropriate procedures to ensure the vehicle is safe and legal
Essential Skills
* 2 years' minimum Night HGV CE Driving experience preffered
* Driver Qualification Card
* Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
* Understanding of driver's hours' legislation, tachograph procedures and other legal obligations
* Good knowledge of load restraint procedures
* Experience Driving Longer Semi & Double Deck Trailers
* Experience with rear steer
* Driver CPC
Hours
Monday to Friday, 5 nights per week, no weekend or Bank Holiday working
Flexible Contracts are also available for 3/4 nights per week if required.
