About the role:
As a Primary SEMH Teacher, you will:
* Deliver tailored lessons designed to support pupils with SEMH needs, ensuring learning is both accessible and engaging.
* Create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment where pupils feel supported emotionally and academically.
* Work closely with the SENCO, support staff, and external professionals (e.g., therapists, behaviour specialists).
* Use trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches to support pupil wellbeing.
* Plan and implement personalised strategies to help pupils regulate emotions and build resilience.
* Monitor academic, behavioural, and emotional progress, adapting your approach as needed.

Person specification:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Experience teaching in a Primary setting.
* Previous experience working with SEMH pupils or in an alternative provision is highly desirable.
* Strong behaviour management with a calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice, de-escalation, and restorative techniques.
* Ability to build trust and meaningful relationships with pupils who may have experienced barriers to learning.
* A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
