The Role
As a Production Scheduler you’ll have a role that’s engaging and challenging. Supporting the work on building and repairing both current and future defence systems within launch and handling systems.
As a Production Scheduler, you’ll be at the heart of our R&O and Whetstone operations, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. In this dynamic role, you’ll manage the full schedule for production, maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities - making sure products and equipment are built efficiently, perform flawlessly, and meet the highest standards of quality.
You’ll partner with teams across Project Management, Engineering, Procurement & Supply Chain, and Quality within our Effectors Business Unit to keep projects aligned with customer needs.
1. Develop and implement production schedules to meet internal customer orders and forecasted demand including space demand planning.
2. Monitor and report stock levels to ensure availability of materials and components, liaising with PMRO specialist/Production Engineering.
3. Create and maintain detailed production schedules for Bristol R&O and Whetstone, ensuring optimal use of resources and space, adjusting schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand, supply chain availability or production issues, and feedback effect of changes to management.
4. Analyse cost data to identify early warning of overspend and suggest areas for recovery and efficiency improvement.
5. Provide data dashboard to Production Managers in R&O and Whetstone to enable resource and space planning.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashton Vale, Bristol. (4 days a week at Ashton Vale, Bristol then with flexibility – with occasional travel to Whetstone, Leicester)
Essential Experience of the Production Scheduler
6. A background in manufacturing and Repair and Overhaul.
7. Experience in MSP Project and potential P6.
8. Experience in IFS Scheduling Capabilities for SAP Environments.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Qualifications for the Production Scheduler
10. A HNC or HND Engineering qualification or equivalent work experience.
