JOB OVERVIEW

This role offers a structured career pathway for Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACPs) within Care of the Older Adult and Front Door Frailty services, progressing to a Band 8a position. [1 [ 2 [ 3 [ Program Overview
  • Duration: 3-year clinical and academic training framework.
  • Rotation: Clinical area rotations across years 1–2; return to
base specialty for year 3. * Progression: Band 8a is awarded via a final ARCP panel after meeting all framework standards. [1

Training & Qualifications
  • Complete a full MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
  • Secure an Independent Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
  • Build a portfolio meeting the 4 pillars of advanced practice:
clinical, research, leadership, and education. [1

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

Main duties and responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities have been taken and adapted from the published Multi- professional Framework for Advanced Level Practice (2025). Under Direct/Indirect supervision at completion of programme. 1. Clinical 1.1 Practice in compliance with their respective code of professional conduct and within their scope of practice, being responsible and accountable for their decisions, actions, and omissions at this level of practice. 1.2 Demonstrate a critical understanding of broadened level of responsibility and autonomy and the limits of own competence and professional scope of practice, including when working with complexity, risk, uncertainty, and incomplete information. 1.3 Act on professional judgement about when to seek help, demonstrating critical reflection on own practice, self-awareness, emotional intelligence and openness to change. At no time should you work outside your professional registration limitations, knowledge or scope of practice as supported by the training standards for the ACPs in training.
