On-Site Plumber – HMP Long Lartin
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site Plumber at HMP Long Lartin.
Working hours: 39 hours per week (across 7 days where a weekend shift pattern applies).
You will be required to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.
This role supports His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by maintaining safe, clean, and efficient prison facilities. The Plumber plays a vital role in ensuring both planned and reactive maintenance is carried out safely, compliantly, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure Health & Safety standards are met across the contract.
2. Complete statutory works on schedule, ensuring full compliance.
3. Perform routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
4. Repair mains water supply and replace life-expired equipment.
5. Inspect water systems, take samples, and assess risks to maintain system integrity.
6. Monitor the BMS system to ensure optimal performance.
7. Support zero carbon initiatives and contribute to sustainability goals.
8. Carry out additional tasks as directed, including working at height and in various weather conditions.
What You Will Bring
9. Appropriate trade qualification – NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing and Heating.
10. Experience in operating light plant.
11. Desirable: Legionella Control (L8) certification and experience in a commercial environment.
