Our dispute resolution practice combines sector insight with technical excellence to deliver commercially focused outcomes for our clients. The Role We are looking for a Claims Dispute & Litigation Controller to join our Claims Team in Newcastle. This role sits within a growing Newcastle disputes practice with a primary focus on aviation-related claims, acting for major airline clients on passenger disputes. Alongside this, you will also gain exposure to a broader range of consumer disputes work, offering a varied and dynamic introduction to commercial litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to develop hands-on litigation experience within a global firm, working as part of a collaborative and high-performing team. Key Responsibilities Assist legally qualified colleagues in the conduct of high-volume consumer claims, both within the aviation sector and in other key sectors Maintain accurate case management records and meet court deadlines Review claims, client evidence, and other documentation to inform liability decisions Draft legal documents including defences, witness statements, and other court forms Support CPR-compliant case progression, produce exhibit bundles and hearing bundles Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, counsel, and third-party opponents Attend mandatory mediation appointments Produce post-trial reports feeding into a process of continuous improvement Ensure efficient, commercially focused claims handling Skills and Experience Required Experience in claims, paralegal, or litigation support roles Interest in aviation and consumer litigation Strong organisation and attention to detail Strong communication skills Proactive and commercially aware Collaborative and motivated to develop LI-JC1 LI-Hybrid Diversity, Equity and Inclusion To attract the best people, we strive to create a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone can bring their whole selves to work, have a sense of belonging, and realize their full career potential.
