The job holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the Lung Cancer Nursing Team
The jobholder will be responsible for the effective provision of a comprehensive secretarial/administrative service to the Lung Cancer Nursing Team.
The post holder will be responsible for provision of a range of secretarial and administrative duties, including audio transcription and word processing of clinical letters, and other correspondence as required by the team. To occasionally act as the focal point of contact and be responsible for the dissemination of information, messages and enquiries for the Nursing Team, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members, other health professionals, staff within the Trust and GP.
Medical secretarial experience is desirable but not essential. You will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to be able to work with staff at all levels.
With support and guidance act as a point of contact and be responsible for the dissemination of information, messages and enquiries for Clinicians, liaising with multi-disciplinary team members, other health professionals and staff within and external to the Trust.

To provide a comprehensive secretarial and administrative support service to the Lung Cancer Nursing Team.

Person Specification
Skills
* Literacy and Numeracy
* Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing at a high level
* Use of electronic systems, diaries, patient records, training
Experience
* Previous secretarial/office experience - 12 months minimum
* Experience to prioritise and manage a diverse workload
* Minimum of 1 years previous Medical Secretarial Experience
Knowledge
* Knowledge of EPR or other Patient Administration System
* Medical Terminology
* Microsoft Office packages, including Excel and Power-point, internet, e-mail etc...
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE standard*
* An appropriate speed and accuracy of typing is required for this role and this will be assessed at interview
* Medical Secretary Diploma
* Advanced secretarial qualifications
