Meet the client:
We are currently looking for carers to support our new client who has suffered an acquired brain injury. He requires 24-hour care, is non-verbal, and totally dependent on others for all care needs. He has a gentle nature and is easy to work with.
What you'll be doing:
This role supports our new male client at his home for day and night shifts. He has suffered an acquired brain injury and requires support with personal care, hygiene, PEG feeds, gastrostomy, nebuliser, and oral suctioning. Full clinical training will be provided.
The ability to drive is required as public transport in the area is unreliable.
Team Leader responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Care Manager and Head Office in managing the care package
* Supporting the Care Co-ordinator with team rota management to ensure reliable care
* Mentoring the care team and acting as a role model for safe practice
Job Responsibilities:
* Review and report changes to client needs
* Facilitate team communication
* Monitor client care and wellbeing
* Liaise with the client’s family as needed
* Manage stocks of supplies and medication
* Participate in out-of-hours services and service failure plans
* Coordinate staff training and recruitment
* Support team orientation and manage rotas
* Update the Care Manager regularly
* Lead team meetings and oversee staff supervision
* Complete tasks as assigned by the Care Manager
Working hours:
* 36 hours per week, including days, waking nights, and sleepovers
* Shifts from 8am to 8pm, 8pm to 8am, with variations including sleep nights
* Availability Monday to Sunday
* Full-time position
