Position: Solar Electrician\nLocation: North/North East of England\nSalary: £38,000 – £42,000 per year\nJob Type: Full-time, Permanent\nWe’re proud to be working with a forward-thinking and rapidly growing client in the renewable energy sector, who are now looking to add a Solar Electrician to their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled electrician looking to move into a future-proof industry with long-term career prospects and the chance to work on high-impact renewable energy projects.\nYou’ll be joining a well-supported team under an experienced Electrical QS, contributing to a variety of solar PV installations across domestic and commercial sites. If you’re passionate about sustainability and want to be part of a business that’s driving the UK’s transition to clean energy — this is the role for you.\nThe Role:\nAs a Solar Electrician, you’ll be hands-on with the full installation and commissioning of solar PV systems, ensuring top-quality workmanship and full compliance with industry regulations.
You'll also be involved in system testing, maintenance and occasional upgrades — no two days will be the same.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\n * Installing and commissioning solar PV systems across residential and commercial properties.\n * Carrying out electrical testing, fault-finding and remedial work.\n * Ensuring all work meets current wiring and MCS standards.\n * Working closely with the QS, engineers, and wider project teams.\n * Maintaining high levels of safety, cleanliness, and organisation on every job.\nWhat We're Looking For:\n * NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (or equivalent).\n * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.\n * Proven experience with solar PV installations (minimum 1 year preferred).\n * ECS Gold Card (preferred).\n * Full UK Driving Licence (essential).\n * Experience with battery storage or MCS-compliant systems (desirable).\n * A self-starter with strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.\nWhat’s on Offer:\n * Competitive salary of £38,000 – £42,000 depending on experience.\n * Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, with overtime opportunities.\n * Fully equipped company van and fuel card for business use.\n * PPE and specialist tools provided.\n * 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays.\n * Company pension scheme.\n * Career progression opportunities within the growing renewables division.\n * Be part of a company that genuinely cares about sustainability and employee development.\nThis is more than just another electrical role — it’s a chance to future-proof your career, work with cutting-edge green technology, and play a key part in the UK’s renewable energy movement
