An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced analyst to work within the Information Management & Performance Team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. Main duties of the job
We are looking for a bright team player who is enthusiastic, analytical with strong numerical ability and who can thrive in a busy, fast paced environment. Whilst an NHS Trust background would be an advantage, this is not essential. You will need to demonstrate advanced SQL and Excel skills, as these are pivotal in this role. You will be able to prioritise, work to tight deadlines as well as have excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Good general level of education including maths and English
* Evidence of continued professional development to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
Experience
* 3-5 years experience of undertaking analysis of data to support business decision making using large data sets.
* Experienced in the use of relational databases and MS Excel spreadsheet.
* Knowledge / experience of Microsoft SQL server
* 3-5 years experience of working in the NHS
* Knowledge / experience of NHS datasets and care pathways
* Experience of the development and release cycle.
* Experience of Microsoft SQL reporting platforms
Skills
* The ability to exercise own initiative and work independently to achieve objectives and deadlines.
* The ability to manage both a high quality service to meet the demands of the business division and maintain a close professional working relationship with the wider information service.
* Skills in developing, maintaining and manipulating highly accurate and complex information systems such as databases or spreadsheets.
* Good working Knowledge and skills in the use of MSSQL and MS Excel.
* Excellent problem solving skills to the development of advanced analytical methodologies.
* A high level of interpersonal skills.
* The ability to plan, prioritise and assign tasks to support staff.
* The ability to work and concentrate in a busy and demanding environment.
Knowledge
* A general understanding of the NHS and key developments shaping the information agenda.
* NHS Information and data modelling concepts
* NHS data standards and terminology, including clinical datasets.
* Thorough understanding and knowledge of relational databases, information reporting and advanced queries.
* Good knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018 and ability to work confidentially with patient level information.
* NHS Data Dictionary
* Working knowledge of R language and concepts
* Working knowledge of ASP.net
