Working with CYP emotional needs across allelements of the iTHRIVE model. This diverseand exciting role delivers a range of interventions to CYP (children and youngpeople) at various stages of their emotional recovery and safety needs. Working as part of a multi-disciplinarycommunity team you will work on a rotational basis across the community day &educational provisions as well as the urgent need Haven evening (inc. weekends)service.


Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will play a critical rolein supporting the mental and emotional well-being of CYP within our community.This position involves providing direct urgent mental health services,collaborating with families, emergency services, CAMHS, schools, and communityorganisations, and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and supportiveenvironment for young people.

Theideal candidate will have experience in providingdirect urgent need mental health support, a strong understanding of thechallenges faced by young people. Therisks presented on engagement with emergency and urgent services and effectiveresponses to behaviours that challengeand de-escalation techniques, and a commitment to delivering high-quality,compassionate care

Job responsibilities

Main Duties and responsibilities:

Haven (Evening service) In this part of the roleyou will be the lead support and responsible for providing direct urgentemotional support for CYP presenting significant critical safety needs and behaviours that challenge. After initial contact with one of our identifiedurgent / emergency service referral partners, the Haven service providesimmediate intervention.

This service supports CYP through highly targetedinterventions with immediate care needs within the Getting risk support /Getting more help elements of the iTHRIVE model.

Independently conduct rapid assessment of referredCYP against service inclusion / exclusion criteria in liaison with Police,Ambulance, ED and CAMHS, collaborate with these services to agree andcoordinate ongoing safety on acceptance to service.

Implement immediate mood regulation interventions andemotional support for CYP experiencing urgent mental health issues.

Conduct rapid risk assessments and agree necessarycollaborative interventions with referral partners to identify the severity ofmental health need mitigate identified risks and develop appropriate, effectiveurgent highneed safety plans.

Deescalate and compassionately manage presentingCYPs potential behaviours that challenge.

Report any identified safeguarding concerns of CYPand coordinate necessary actions to mitigate any immediate risks to self /others.

Liaise with Caregivers and referral partnersto ensure ongoing immediate safety of CYP post intervention and coordinate a safereturn to home residence or work with partners to identify safe emergencyaccommodation.

Develop andimplement follow-up care plans, including referrals to appropriate mentalhealth services (internal Be U Swindon & external service offers).

Offerguidance and support to families and caregivers, helping them understand and effectivelyrespond to the mental health needs of their children.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuringall interventions and plans are thoroughly documented.

Participate in ongoing training and professionaldevelopment opportunities to stay current with best practices in mental healthcare.

Hubs (Day services) This part of the roledelivers emotional support to CYP in community settings inc. education settings,community centres and Be U therapeutic spaces.

This service supports CYP presenting with careneeds within Getting Advice / Getting Help elements of the iTHRIVE model.

Developindividualised care plans based on assessments, considering the unique needsand circumstances of each child.

Provideevidence-based therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapeuticinterventions to CYP.

Engagewith children in various settings, including schools and community centres.

Workclosely with families as appropriate to offer guidance, education, and supportin managing their child's mental health challenges.

Providetraining and resources to parents and caregivers to help them understand andaddress their childs mental health needs effectively.

Collaboratewith schools, healthcare providers, social services, and other community organisationsto coordinate care and ensure a holistic approach to each child's well-being.

Advocatefor the mental health needs of children and adolescents within the community,promoting awareness and reducing stigma.

Respondto identified safeguarding concerns, providing immediate support andintervention to children and families in need.

Maintainaccurate and up-to-date records of assessments, treatment plans, progressnotes, and other relevant documentation.

Staycurrent with developments in child and adolescent mental health, attendingtraining sessions, workshops, and conferences as needed.

Participatein regular supervision and peer support meetings to ensure best practices andcontinuous professional growth.

Engagewith local communities to raise awareness about mental health issues andavailable support services for children and young people.

Anyother duties appropriate to role to support the development of the serviceoffer and quality of care received by CYP.

Qualifications

* Up to date knowledge of CYP emotional wellbeing / early mental health clinical evidence-based practice and support for parents/carers


Experience

* Knowledge of development in MH CYP, family development and of transitions.
* Experience of working in an enhanced need MH multi-disciplinary team environment and with external professionals such as emergency services.
* Experience providing direct urgent mental health services within an urgent care setting or working with clients presenting with significant safety needs and behaviours that challenge.
* Ability to work independently to assess and manage risks inc. urgent needs with experience of developing appropriate plans to meet urgent challenging needs.
* Ability to recognise and respond to concerns about child protection and safeguarding.
* Ability to make use of supervision to support own wellbeing and professional development.
* Up to date knowledge of CYP emotional wellbeing / early mental health clinical evidence-based practice and support for parents/carers.
* Experience in quality improvement measures.
* Experience in delivering training and workshops to CYP and parents / carers.
* Experience in delivering training to professionals.
* Experience in running group interventions / peer support groups.
