Due to increasing demand for our Autism Service weare now looking for a committed and passionate Nurse Autism Practitioner to joinour experienced multidisciplinary team. Youwill work clinically along with Psychologists, Learning Disability Nurses,Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and teams of assistantpractitioners and charity volunteers.
You will have opportunities for training anddevelopment, to engage in reflective practice, and a chance to support andshape new services under the direction of the Clinical Lead.
This is a permanent post working as part of an MDTto deliver effective clinical input through assessment, formulation,recommendations and guidance to children and families accessing the service.
Main duties of the job
Thisis a permanent post supporting the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), in thedelivery of effective clinical services through assessment, formulation andongoing support to children, young people and families accessing CaudwellChildren services.
Youwill work clinically as part of the MDT that includes Psychologists, LearningDisability Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists,Paediatricians, Clinical Assistants, Assistant Psychologists and charityvolunteers. The role also will involveclose collaborative working with the Children and Family Services Department,Applications Department and Volunteer Department.

Job responsibilities
12. Provideenhanced clinical support to the family support team in relation to families andchildren accessing the clinical services.
13. SupportADOS and ADI-R assessments with children on the autism service pathway.
14. Delivera range of workshops to adults and children in relation to ASD approaches andsupport.
15. Communicatein a skilled and sensitive manner, information concerning the assessment,formulation and treatment plans of children and families accessing the clinicalpathway and to monitor progress during the course of multi-disciplinary care.
16. Undertakeclinical work with individuals and groups providing advice, resources andstrategies, as appropriate, using specialist skills and autism specificapproaches where required.
17. Wherenecessary, undertake risk assessments and risk management for children andtheir families and to provide advice to other professions on aspects of riskassessment and risk management.
18. Tocoordinate, where appropriate, the intervention plans in respect of children,taking responsibility for initiating planning and reviewing progress withchildren, their carers, referring agents and others involved in their networkof care.
19. Contributeto the development of the multi-disciplinary team.
20. Aspart of the team engage actively in practice development, evaluation, audit andresearch activities to inform evidence based practice.
21. Providementorship and clinical supervision for practice education placements.
22. Whereappropriate, share and disseminate research findings with professionalcolleagues in the interests of practice development.
23. Ensurecompliance and completion of CPD activities.
24. Workcollaboratively with all members of the MDT sharing information as appropriate.
25. Receive regular clinicalprofessional supervision relevant to your profession.
26. Provideprofessional and clinical supervision of assistant posts where appropriate.
27. Provideadvice, consultation and training to staff working with the client group acrossa range of agencies and settings, where appropriate.
28. Contributeto the development, evaluation and monitoring of the teams operationalpolicies and services, through the deployment of professional skills inresearch, service evaluation and audit.
29. Managethe workloads of assistant roles, where appropriate, within the framework ofthe team/services policies and procedures.
30. Utilisetheory, evidence-based literature and research to support evidence basedpractice in individual work and work with other team members.
31. Undertakeappropriate research and provide research advice to other staff undertakingresearch within the programme.
32. Undertakeproject management, including complex audit and service evaluation, withcolleagues within the service to help develop service provision.
