The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at Admiral Money, you’ll play a key role in driving innovation across our technical product teams. You’ll contribute to a wide range of development initiatives, champion engineering excellence, and help shape the future of our products through deep technical insight and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Although this exciting and important role will vary day‑to‑day, we expect that the suitable candidate will:
1. Write clean, idiomatic, and maintainable Golang code that aligns with business requirements
2. Ensure all work is covered by suitable unit tests
3. Contribute proactively to technical excellence through peer reviews and best‑practice development
4. Maintain appropriate levels of documentation
5. Contribute effectively to team activities including Scrum events
6. Demonstrate commitment to continual improvement of the software, the team, the discipline, and the business
7. Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, and other stakeholders
8. Support the growth of the discipline through coaching and mentoring
Essential Skills / Experience
9. Significant professional experience with Golang, plus HTML and CSS
10. Experience with both React and (or similar frameworks)
11. Experience using AWS (or other cloud platform providers)
12. Experience with CI/CD and DevOps tooling and processes
13. Ability to work effectively as a member of a Scrum/Agile team
14. Knowledge and awareness of accessibility standards and best practices
15. Practical understanding of Secure Software Development practices
16. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable Skills / Experience
17. Knowledge of other programming languages (particularly TypeScript or Python)
18. Experience using CSS pre‑processors (, Sass),, and Nx
19. Experience working with microservices and event‑driven architectures
20. Database engineering experience (particularly PostgreSQL and DynamoDB)
21. Experience with Terraform/IaC
22. Kubernetes and Docker experience
