Northease Manor School is seeking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with our exceptional students, providing invaluable support and guidance throughout their educational journey. We strongly believe in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment for all young people.
Main purpose
The TA will:
· Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of students
· Collaborate with the class teacher, SENDCo and therapists to develop and implement tailored learning plans for students with SEN
· Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting a love for learning
· Promote students' independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
· Give support to students, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience a sense of achievement
· Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting a love for learning.
· Provide support to teachers as and when required
Duties and responsibilities
Teaching and learning
· Demonstrate an informed and efficient approach to teaching and learning by adopting relevant strategies to support the work of the teacher and increase the achievement of all students
· Adapt and modify teaching materials to accommodate individual learning styles and abilities
· Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging the participation of all students in learning and extracurricular activities
· Support the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aimed at students achieving their full potential in all areas of learning
· Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy and procedures
· Maintain and develop an understanding of student needs and EHCP's
· Support class teachers with maintaining positive behaviour among students, managing behaviour effectively to ensure a safe learning environment
· Organise and manage teaching spaces and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
· Observe student performance and pass observations on to the class teacher
· Supervise a class if the teacher is temporarily unavailable
· Use ICT skills to advance students' learning
· Undertake any other relevant duties given by the class teacher
Line Manager: Assistant Headteacher
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Weeks: Term time only 35 weeks (includes attendance on all INSET/staff training days).
