Background
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) research assistant for the 'EmotionaL and Language recovery after Aphasia (ELLA)' project. The ELLA study is investigating a new therapy for people living with aphasia that targets language recovery, confidence, and emotional wellbeing, integrating Solution Focused Brief Therapy and elaborated semantic feature analysis. The project is exploring delivery of the therapy within NHS settings.
There are two part-time roles. There is some flexibility in how these are configured.
Responsibilities
Your role will include working with people with aphasia, their significant others, SLTs, students and therapy assistants. You will support people with aphasia through the consent process; complete outcome measures with participants with aphasia; interview participants with aphasia, family members, NHS SLTs and student SLTs about their experiences.
Person Specification
Qualified Speech and Language Therapist. Experience of working with people living with aphasia and their families. Experience of communicating effectively and sensitively with a range of stakeholders. Experience and understanding of managing research information and research processes. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
