Who Are You?
We are looking for a Cloud/IT Support Engineer who can support Microsoft 365 environments for all our business (we have 4 small companies in Group totalling 50 employees), while also assisting Nalanda with security monitoring, compliance tasks related to ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials and Azure infrastructure support.
You will have previous experience in a similar role within a SME business. You need to be proactive and happy to provide IT support from printer issues right through to the Security monitoring. This role won’t suit someone who isn’t happy to do all the menial tasks.
The role would suit someone currently working as an IT Support Engineer, Systems Administrator, Cloud Support Engineer, or a security‑minded IT technician.
Job Overview
To provide IT support for OLM Group companies while assisting Nalanda with cloud infrastructure, security monitoring, and compliance activities related to ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
Job Function Tasks and Responsibilities
Customer IT Support (3rd Line / Escalation)
Provide IT support across approximately four organisations. Typical responsibilities would include Microsoft 365 administration, user account management, MFA and security configuration, SharePoint and OneDrive troubleshooting, email and Exchange support, device management, basic networking issues, and supporting staff with day‑to‑day IT queries.
The tools typically used would include Microsoft 365 Admin Centre, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
Security and Compliance Support (Nalanda)
Assist with strengthening security and supporting compliance initiatives. Tasks may include reviewing Microsoft Defender alerts, monitoring Intune device compliance, assisting with security hardening, helping gather Cyber Essentials evidence, contributing to ISO 27001 documentation and processes, reviewing vulnerability reports, and implementing security recommendations where appropriate.
Azure and Infrastructure Assistance
Provide support to Nalanda’s cloud infrastructure where required. This may include basic Azure administration, monitoring virtual machines, assisting with firewall configuration, supporting backup processes, helping with environment setup, and supporting security configuration across environments.
Internal Operational Support
Assist with general operational and infrastructure tasks where needed. Examples include investigating support tickets, reviewing monitoring alerts, assisting with deployments, carrying out basic scripting tasks, updating documentation, and helping maintain the BookStack knowledge base.
