United Infrastructure – Assistant Project Manager

United Infrastructure Power T&D are seeking an Assistant Project Manager based in Alness, Scotland to support the Enabling Works Project Manager on a significant overhead lines project in Ross‑shire. The role is site‑based and requires frequent travel and periods away from home.
Role Overview
The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring delivery excellence on assigned projects by effectively managing scope, schedule, cost, and risk; providing clarity and assurance to stakeholders; overseeing progress; and adhering to organisational procedures and safety standards. The role will support the Design and Construction phases and work closely with commercial, operations and client teams.
Typical Responsibilities
* Support the Enabling Works Project Manager and oversee a variety of work packages.
* Manage scope, schedule, cost, and risk for assigned projects.
* Coordinate and manage subcontractors and suppliers to deliver works on time and within budget.
* Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure matters relating to commercial and operations are fully aligned and managed.
* Maintain an accurate programme for the works, reflecting progress to date and plans to complete.
* Prepare and submit correspondence to the client in accordance with contract requirements.
* Contribute to the development of execution plans for future phases of the project.
* Engage actively with customers and stakeholders to support project delivery.
Qualifications
* University degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent qualifications and experience.
* Demonstrated project delivery experience in the Transmission and Distribution sector or another related sector with a focus on groundworks and civil engineering.
* Proven project delivery skills in construction management, stakeholder management, cost estimation, project planning and effective communication.
* Strong organisational abilities and initiative.
* Experience of developing and delivering multi‑million‑pound projects safely, on time and within budget (preferred).
* Experience working with transmission and distribution network operators is advantageous but not essential.
