Job Title: Production Manager (12-month fixed term contract) Salary/Grade: £35,119 - £43,000 per annum (depending on experience) Location: Larne Benefits: Up to 10% bonus 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employee's contribution up to 6% Contributory share scheme - Caterpillar will match 50% of the employee's contribution. The opportunity As the Production Manager, you will work in a collaborative environment, interfacing with external contractors and various support functions such as project management and engineering to drive the success of the Fabrications Team at the Larne Facility. You will manage a team consisting of team leaders, semi-skilled and skilled personnel to coordinate activities, prepare schedules, resolve issues, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards at the Larne Facility. This is a great opportunity for someone to learn and develop their skills during this fixed term contract. What you will do: Supervise and direct the daily activities of production lines workers, assigning tasks, ensuring coordination between different teams, ensuring their safety and monitoring their performance. Create reports and records of production processes, tools issues performance, and inventory; sharing them with managers and providing suggestions to improve safety, productivity and quality. Prepare, maintain, and update documentation related to operating procedures and safety and quality standards; ensuring all processes and products meet desired safety and quality standards. Train new hires, manage scheduling and work conflicts, monitor safety, and promote internal communication to create a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. What you have: Talent Management: Ability to manage diverse teams and adjust management and personal style to fit the needs of different people and different situations. Able to plan resources and resolve conflicts in a wide variety of situations, such as workload allocation, schedule overlap etc. Quality Management: Adheres to organizational quality management processes and practices. Applies key aspects of continuous improvement processes and evaluates impact on quality. Works with quality assurance methods, tools and techniques. Experience with developing programs for motivating employees to meet or exceed quality goals. Planning and Organizing: Identifies the critical goals and tasks required to meet daily objectives and tracks the implementation of tasks closely to ensure that desired outcomes are achieved. Escalates concerns over competing or conflicting priorities. Ability to monitor progress continuously and adjusts tactics for handling situations on a case by case basis. Manufacturing Operations: Ability to communicate and collaborate across departments to ensure a smooth workflow in the plant or facility. Evaluates the risks and safety hazards present in manufacturing operations. Supervises daily operations to ensure production targets and forecasts are achieved. Abel to anticipate demand and assuring capacity. Manufacturing Safety: Assesses and reports unusual or new safety hazards or violations; initiates corrective action. Performs safety inspections to assure compliance with local H&S requirements. Promotes workplace safety among supervisors and workers; communicates safety rules and regulations. Ensures that all employees and contractors comply with relevant safety policies and regulations.
