About The Role
As Senior Delivery Manager, you’ll play a pivotal leadership role within the Risk Screening department, reporting directly to the Director of Engineering. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of Delivery Managers, Delivery Leads, and Business Analysts to build a high‑performing function that consistently delivers value and drives clarity across Product and Engineering.
You’ll own the workforce and funding strategy for the department, ensuring teams have the right capabilities, structure, and environment to deliver our roadmap sustainably with a long‑term view of platform health. You’ll also work closely with KTLO, SRE, Product Management, and Engineering teams to embed operational considerations such as maintenance, resilience, and supportability into planning from the start.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Line Management
* Lead, coach, and support Delivery Managers, Delivery Leads, and Business Analysts to ensure strong performance, clear progression pathways, and a collaborative, accountable culture.
* Define and maintain standards, frameworks, and procedures for delivery and business analysis across the department.
* Create an environment of psychological safety, continuous learning, and high‑quality delivery.
Delivery Oversight & Governance
* Own delivery governance for major initiatives across Risk Screening, ensuring appropriate governance over the whole portfolio.
* Ensure proactive planning, execution oversight, dependency management, and risk mitigation across all the department's agile teams.
* Ensure teams align with internal controls, regulatory expectations, data‑handling standards, and audit frameworks.
* Provide clear, structured reporting to senior leadership and governance bodies.
Funding, Budget & Workforce Strategy
* Own department‑level funding, including budgeting, cost management, and forecasting across multiple teams and workstreams.
* Develop a long‑term workforce plan and quarterly capacity plans aligned to the delivery roadmap and organisational strategy, balancing permanent, contractor, and vendor resourcing.
* Work closely with Finance, HR, Product, and Programme Management to align investment decisions with organisational priorities.
Portfolio Planning & Roadmap Execution
* Partner with Product, Engineering and Architecture to translate strategic objectives into actionable, realistic delivery plans.
* Drive roadmap predictability through strong prioritisation, sequencing, and capacity alignment.
* Remove systemic blockers, resolve cross‑team conflicts, and improve delivery flow.
* Ensure delivery teams have the clarity, space, and structure they need for success.
Team Performance & Continuous Improvement
* Use delivery metrics, service insights, and team feedback to drive meaningful improvements in flow, predictability, and quality.
* Ensure consistent use of agile practices across teams while tailoring approaches to context and maturity.

Business Analysis Capability
* Lead and develop the Business Analysis function, ensuring Business Analysts are equipped with the right tools, techniques, and domain expertise.
* Work closely with Product Management to shape discovery practices, refine problem definition, and ensure a shared understanding of customer and regulatory needs.
* Strengthen the role of Business Analysts in backlog refinement, prioritisation, and cross‑team dependency management, enabling them to partner with Product and Engineering in turning strategic intent into high‑quality work.
Operational Service, Maintenance & Platform Stability
* Work closely with Engineering and Support teams to ensure operational considerations are factored into delivery planning.
* Ensure engineering teams proactively account for maintenance, technical debt, resilience improvements, and supportability in their work.
* Align roadmap priorities with operational needs, ensuring the right balance between new delivery and platform stability.
* Support transparency on service health, incident lessons, and operational priorities, integrating them into future planning.
