Requirements
For this role it is essential that you carry the following professional qualifications as a minimum;
Degree or Diploma in Production, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Lean Six Sigma certification (Yellow Belt, Green Belt, or higher) - desirable but not essentialIt is also preferred that you hold the experience below;
Proven experience in process optimisation, lean manufacturing, and quality assurance
Demonstrated experience in creating and executing SOPs within a manufacturing settingAdditional skills;
Proficient utilisation of ERP / MRP systems
Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
Strong written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail
Familiarity with 3D modeling software (such as AutoCAD or equivalent)
Knowledgeable of Lean Six Sigma methodologies (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping)
In-depth understanding of metal fabrication techniques, including grinding, welding, polishing, and assembly
Solid understanding of ISO standards, quality management system and best practices for process documentationThe Role
Job Title: Junior Production Engineer

Reporting to: Production EngineerDuties
Reporting regularly and consistently to the Production Engineer
Oversee and revise Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accurate and current material details
Support lean manufacturing efforts by streamlining processes, improving efficiency, and reducing waste
Assist the Production Engineer in developing SOPs, optimizing processes and creating training initiatives
Support in diagnosing equipment or production issues, working to quickly identify and implement solutions
Ensure adherence to quality control standards to reduce defects and enhance product consistency and dependability
Deliver training to production teams on new SOPs, updated BOMs, and Lean practices to boost compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement
Liaise with production technicians on the shop floor, creating SOPs, verify adherence and pinpoint areas for workflow improvements
Design, document and enforce standard operating procedures for each phase of the production process, including fabrication, welding, assembly and surface finishing (patination/painting)
Support the design, manufacturing and quality assurance teams, ensuring standard operating procedures (SOPs), bills of materials (BOMs) and technical drawings are accurately aligned with industry best practices
Observe production lines and assist in maintaining smooth operations by identifying and addressing any issues
Contribute to process optimization initiatives, suggesting ways to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity
Facilitate in monitoring product quality, ensure production standards and specifications are met and assist in addressing any quality issues
