ROLE DESCRIPTION
Brio Digital are supporting a consultancy delivering a major NHS digital programme and are looking for an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to join the team. The post holder will design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud-based solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-availability applications and automated deployment pipelines in line with security and performance best practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure
* Design and implement scalable cloud-based solutions using AWS services
* Deploy and manage AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and associated tooling
* Optimise cloud architecture for maximum efficiency, resilience, and performance
* Build and maintain highly available, highly performant applications at scale
CI/CD & Automation
* Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment using GitHub Actions
* Build and manage AWS Lambda functions and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across the cloud infrastructure
Security & Governance
* Ensure security best practices are applied consistently across all cloud systems
* Contribute to security reviews and remediation of identified risks
Collaboration & Delivery
* Work within an Agile delivery environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams
* Define, design, and deliver new features in partnership with product and engineering teams
* Strong Python development skills applied across automation, tooling, and backend services
DESIRABLE SKILLS
* Knowledge of Apigee API management
* Knowledge of FHIR and HL7 healthcare data standards
* React front-end development experience
