Objective of the role
Would you like the opportunity to begin your social work career in a supportive and forward-thinking environment that actively invests in your development?
You will join Richmond and Wandsworth Adult Social Care as part of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme, where you will develop your skills, confidence and professional practice.
You will work within a collaborative social work team, supporting adults to maximise independence, wellbeing and choice, while gaining valuable experience across a range of adult social care functions.
Throughout your ASYE year, you will receive structured support, reflective supervision, and access to high-quality training to help you progress into a confident and capable social worker.
About the role
Key aspects of the role include:
1. Undertaking Care Act assessments to identify needs, strengths and risks
2. Developing and reviewing support plans that are person-centred and outcome-focused
3. Applying the Mental Capacity Act, including capacity assessments and best interest decision-making
4. Supporting and responding to safeguarding concerns to protect adults at risk
5. Working in partnership with residents, carers and professionals to deliver holistic support
6. Embedding reflective practice through regular supervision and learning opportunities
7. Demonstrating a commitment to continued professional development (CPD)throughout the ASYE programme
8. Applying social work values, legislation and guidance in practice
9. Developing confidence in decision-making in both routine and complex situations
10. Contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience
20. Degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification)
21. Eligible for or registered with Social Work England
22. Understanding of key legislation including theCare Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks
23. Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
24. Willingness to learn, develop and engage with the ASYEprogramme
25. Commitment to delivering person-centred, strengths-based practice
