Overview
First Military Recruitment is partnering with a refrigeration business to recruit an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep of factory plant equipment at their depot in Wrexham. This is a permanent position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform maintenance tasks efficiently during shifts.
* Work collaboratively with maintenance, hygiene, and logistics teams.
* Support team members during absences and breaks.
* Follow all work instructions, procedures, and job descriptions.
* Complete Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks.
* Maintain accurate paperwork.
* Coordinate with other functions to ensure smooth operations.
* Meet operational targets and ensure safety and quality standards.
* Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues promptly.
* Order spare parts and liaise with suppliers as needed.
* Log parts and work details accurately.
* Report on downtime, quality issues, and completed work to management.
* Identify potential problems proactively and take appropriate action.
* Work closely with logistics and engineering managers for smooth handovers.
* Instruct unskilled/semi-skilled personnel in equipment operation.
* Use power tools and equipment safely.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in manufacturing, processing, warehouse, or cold-store industries.
* Electrical qualifications and apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
* Proficient in English (written and oral).
* Basic Health & Safety knowledge.
* Strong data and analytical skills.
* Computer literate (Word, Excel, Windows).
Desirable Skills:
* PLC knowledge.
* Experience with hydraulic and temperature control systems.
* Instrumentation systems experience.
* Welding skills.
* FLT/MEWP license.
Additional Details:
* Location: Wrexham
* Salary: £38,300
* Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm plus overtime
