Join a well-established production and distribution operation! We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Shift Team Leader to support a busy, fast-paced site in Tewkesbury. This is a hands-on leadership role working across Production and Distribution, providing technical support, coaching engineers, and ensuring machinery runs safely and efficiently. An electrical bias is essential, with opportunities to progress into wider leadership within the engineering function.
What You’ll Do
1. Support the Engineering Manager with departmental goals and day-to-day operations
2. Lead, mentor, and train engineers through practical, on-the-floor coaching
3. Coordinate and deliver planned and preventative maintenance schedules
4. Repair and test electrical and mechanical production machinery
5. Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding
6. Complete paperwork, records, and engineering documentation
7. Support and mentor Apprentices where required
8. Deputise for the Engineering Manager when needed
9. Provide holiday cover for engineers and support staff
10. Participate in the engineering call-out rota
What We’re Looking For
11. Minimum apprenticeship qualification with an electrical bias
12. Experience working with high-speed and automated machinery (FMCG desirable)
13. Strong electrical fault-finding ability
14. Able to work independently with good initiative
15. Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities
16. Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
17. Able to work flexibly and meet tight deadlines
18. Confident communicator with strong people management or supervisory experience
Shift Pattern
Week 1: Monday–Saturday, 06:00–14:00
Week 2: Monday–Friday, 13:45–21:45
