Salary: $71,000-$118,200
Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team! This position will be responsible for working in a team environment, geared toward the Research, Development, and Engineering of technologies for software and weapon systems.
What will you be doing?
This position will be a key member of the Weapons and Software Engineering Center. Duties include:
* Provide experience with mechanical engineering support for the development of individual weapon components
* Support all aspects of design, prototype, testing, and manufacturing
* Ability to work hands-on and collaborate with the machine shop for prototyping
* Prepare designs using 3D CAD (Creo) modeling software
* Document designs using the Army's design standards and GD&T
* Write test plans and work closely with testing groups
* Develop and present reports
* Work with manufacturing teams to develop functional prototypes
* Support mature designs currently in production
* This position requires travel up to 25%
What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?
This position will require the following skillsets and experience:
* Must be able to obtain a clearance through the DoD security background investigation process
* Pass drug and alcohol testing
* Good mechanical skills and experience
* Self-starter and able to work autonomously
* Experience with engineering software, including Creo CAD
* Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
* High standard of quality and efficiency
* Familiarity with firearms and ammunition is a plus
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of weapons and firearms is a plus
* Must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly
* Fluent in MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
* Must be a US citizen
* Must have a valid NJ driver's license and be able to obtain a government driver's license
* Must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
* Past or present military personnel are encouraged to apply
* 3-8 years of experience with mechanical engineering or similar discipline
