About the role As a Care Home Assistant you will play a vital role in the daily lives of our residents, supporting them to live with dignity, comfort, and independence. Working closely with our senior care and nursing teams, you will deliver warm, consistent, person-centred support across all aspects of daily living. Your day-to-day duties will include Supporting residents with personal care including washing, dressing, grooming, and toileting — always maintaining privacy and dignity Assisting with mealtimes, helping residents eat and drink safely, and monitoring nutritional and hydration needs Providing genuine companionship, one-to-one engagement, and emotional support to promote residents' wellbeing Encouraging participation in social activities, therapeutic programmes, and in-home events Assisting with safe mobility, transfers, and repositioning in line with individual care plans and moving and handling guidelines Observing and monitoring residents' health and reporting any changes in condition to the senior care team promptly Maintaining accurate, timely care records and handover notes in line with CQC standards Supporting residents' families and visitors in a warm, professional manner Contributing to a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment in line with infection control and health and safety policies Collaborating with nurses, senior carers, and the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, consistent care About you A genuine passion for caring for elderly people and a commitment to treating every resident as an individual BTEC Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is preferred NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is highly desirable Any accredited social care qualification or relevant CPD will be a distinct advantage Previous experience in a residential, domiciliary, or supported living setting is preferred — full training will be provided for the right candidate Patient, empathetic, and professional in all interactions with residents, families, and colleagues Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain clear records Flexible and reliable — able to work day and night shifts including weekends as required Right to work in the UK · Enhanced DBS check required (fully funded by us) What we offer £13.15 – £14.50 per hour with London weighting, reviewed annually Immediate start for the right candidate Enhanced DBS check paid in full by us Full induction and mandatory training from day one, with ongoing CPD funded by the company Day and night shifts — full-time and part-time hours considered Structured career progression from Care Assistant through to Senior Carer, Team Leader, and beyond Supportive, experienced management and a positive, close-knit team culture Workplace pension and statutory holiday entitlement If you are ready to make a meaningful difference every day and want to grow your career with one of the UK's most respected care organisations, we want to hear from you.
