Asset Senior Maintenance Engineer
* Hourly rate: £29.05 PAYE.
* Location: Doncaster, North Bridge Depot, Permit Parking Available
* Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid (4 days in-office, flexible remote working)
* Length of role: Initial 6 months
Join our team as an Asset Senior Maintenance Engineer and lead the management of all highway electrical equipment in Doncaster. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and compliance of our street lighting and electrical assets across the region. You will be instrumental in developing procedures and policies to maintain and enhance our infrastructure.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Act as the primary contact for highway electrical matters, ensuring all maintenance and replacements adhere to legislation, standards, and council procedures.
* Manage and execute maintenance regimes to ensure all highway assets meet electrical testing and structural condition survey requirements within statutory or policy guidelines.
* Oversee the budget for electrical testing, condition surveys, and other related areas, ensuring optimal value and compliance.
* Record and monitor all completed work on the asset database, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory certification.
* Provide technical advice and project management for electrical services, contributing to energy-efficient lighting and traffic schemes that minimize life-term costs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Level 7 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
* Leadership or management qualification at level 5 or equivalent.
* NVQ Level 4 or above in street lighting/electrical engineering.
* Full membership of a relevant professional body and registration with the Engineering Council at Eng. Tech level or equivalent.
* Extensive experience in managing electrical assets and sub-contractors.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiar with asset management systems.
* Knowledge of H&S, CDM requirements, and IET BS7671 wiring regulations.
