Travel health is by definition an evolving and topical field. Situations can change very quickly and as a national body organisation, the National Travel Health Network and Centre (NaTHNaC) needs to be able to provide an accurate response in a timely fashion. We are looking for a dynamic Senior Nurse who can work as part of a small, supportive, dedicated multi-disciplinary team and is passionate about providing up to date information and advice for travellers and health professionals.
Staying up to date with current guidelines/ evidence-based research is crucial to the service we provide to our users. The wide variety of topics covered by travel health make it a fascinating area to work in. We need a Senior Nurse who has extensive experience in epidemiology and can be responsible for meeting the nurse manager needs of the department.

Main duties of the job
The job purpose involves the Senior Nurse to work closely with the Director to provide their services to NaTHNaC. Other key working relations include the Operations Manager, Analysts, Online Communications and Information Officer, Business Support staff, temporary staff and external network partners:
• Delivery of quality nurse/pharmacist clinical services within the organisation.
• Management of adequately resourced and functional nurse/pharmacist team, including recruitment, development, performance, training.
• Analysis, interpretation and comparison of a range of clinical, service or management options.
• Provision of high-quality specialist advice, underpinned by theory and experience.
• Organisation of a broad range of complex activities including planning of strategies which impact across the service and sector.
• Effective communicate of service-related information to senior managers, staff, service users, external agencies.
