Increasing non‑fee income is one of Trinity School’s key objectives, to support bursaries and the exciting improvements to the school’s buildings and facilities. The Enterprise Manager is responsible for delivering commercial success for Trinity School, while balancing the needs of the school and the local community. Commercial here refers to non‑fee income sources such as the hire and lettings of school facilities. The Enterprise Manager works closely with academic and operational staff, as well as external stakeholders, to develop and manage commercial activities and opportunities within the school. Reports to: Director of Finance and Operations. Direct report: Sports Club Manager.


Responsibilities

* Collaborate with the Director of Finance and Operations and other internal stakeholders to formulate a robust and profitable commercial strategy that maximises the use of all school facilities, especially during school holidays, weekends, and evenings when students are not on site.
* Work with the Head of Building Services, Head of Estates and the Safeguarding Team to ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety and Safeguarding regulations and good practice, keeping up to date with relevant developments in legislation.
* In coordination with the Sports Club management team, develop and implement a sustainable and profitable strategy for the Sports Club that considers income generation, school reputation, and wider community impact.
* Create new partnerships and nurture existing ones with organisations that align with the Trinity School ethos, enhancing the quality of hiring groups and improving coaching/teaching provision where possible.
* Work with the School’s in‑house Marketing Team to advertise Enterprise activities.


Essential Skills

* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form positive relationships across the organisation and externally.
* Highly organised, with the ability to multi‑task, juggle competing priorities and work successfully to deadlines.
* Ability to produce and interpret relevant financial information, including the preparation of effective budgets and monitoring income and expenditures against them.
* Strong IT and technical skills, including a good grasp of Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
* Ability to demonstrate commercial acumen, diplomacy, negotiation and pitching skills.


Experience

* Proven experience of business planning, forecasting, and target setting.
* Experience of collaborating with a variety of stakeholders and working as a team.
* Proven understanding of, and ability to deliver, a customer‑focused service.
* Experience in or understanding of the commercial sports and leisure sector.
* Experience being responsible for income generation and profitability in a customer‑service‑orientated organisation.
* Experience of the independent education sector and understanding of safeguarding and academic requirements.
* Experience of managing a variety of individuals, including those on casual contracts.


Terms and Conditions

* Salary: Point 26 – 29 (currently £39,986 to £43,761) on the John Whitgift Foundation pay scale.
* Operational Staff pay scale, dependent on experience, with a discretionary bonus of up to 15% of salary based on meeting financial and operational criteria.
* Flexible 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, in accordance with the needs of the role. Occasional Saturday, Sunday and evening work will be required to meet the needs of the co‑commercial programme.
* Full‑time, permanent.
* Full DBS check required; all applicants must comply with safeguarding procedures, including an Enhanced DBS check. Successful candidates may also be subject to a social media check.
