The Role:
We are seeking a Non-Contentious Construction Associate (2+ years PQE) to join a busy and highly regarded construction team in Exeter. The successful candidate will work on international, national, and regional matters, focusing on non-contentious construction and infrastructure work.
This role involves advising on residential and commercial developments, renewable energy projects, urban regeneration schemes, financing arrangements, joint ventures, operation/maintenance/service contracts, and facilities management. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating contracts such as NEC, JCT, FIDIC, and bespoke agreements.
You will work directly with clients, handling high-responsibility transactions, and have opportunities for business development and professional growth in a supportive environment.
Ideal Candidate:
* Non-Contentious Construction Associate (2+ years PQE)
* Experience in construction or infrastructure law, including risk reviews, drafting, and negotiating contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT, FIDIC)
* Ability to handle complex transactions and provide practical, commercially-focused advice
* Experience advising clients directly and managing complex matters
* Team player with a collaborative approach
* Ambitious, self-motivated, eager to expand sector knowledge
* Strong relationship-building skills and industry awareness
