A highly regarded national property consultancy is seeking an experienced Rural Surveyor to join its established Rural Land Management & Consultancy team based in Newbury.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an MRICS-qualified rural professional looking to take the next step in their career, with scope to join at Associate Director or Senior Associate Director level depending on experience. The successful candidate will become a key member of a respected and high-performing team, advising a prestigious portfolio of private estates, rural landowners, investors and institutional clients across the South of England.
The role offers significant autonomy, exposure to high-value and complex rural assets, and the opportunity to play a strategic role in both client management and business development.
The Role:
The successful individual will be responsible for delivering high-quality estate and property management advice across a diverse rural portfolio, while supporting the continued growth and success of the wider business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the lead asset manager for a portfolio of significant rural estate management clients.
- Providing strategic estate management advice to private and institutional landowners.
- Managing a diverse range of rural assets including agricultural, residential, commercial and amenity property.
- Conducting rent reviews, lease renewals, tenancy negotiations and licence agreements.
- Overseeing repair, maintenance and improvement programmes across client portfolios.
- Managing landlord and tenant matters and assisting in dispute resolution where required.
- Working closely with specialist colleagues across farming, forestry, natural capital, environmental, agency and valuation disciplines.
- Ensuring delivery of key client objectives, service standards and reporting requirements.
- Identifying opportunities to develop and grow client relationships.
- Supporting business development initiatives and contributing to new fee generation.
- Mentoring and developing junior surveyors within the team.
- Contributing to the leadership and continued success of a highly respected rural consultancy business.
About You:

You will possess:
- MRICS qualification (Rural Pathway preferred).
- Approximately 5+ years PQE within rural surveying, estate management or rural consultancy.
- A relevant degree in Rural Estate Management, Rural Surveying, Agriculture, Property or a related discipline.
- Strong experience managing rural estates and diverse landholdings.
- Excellent understanding of landlord and tenant matters, estate management and rural property legislation.
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver high-quality professional advice.
- Strong commercial awareness and business development capability.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A commitment to supporting and developing junior team members.
Desirable
- CAAV qualification or membership.
- Experience working with private estates, landed estates or institutional rural portfolios.
- Exposure to natural capital, environmental schemes or strategic land projects.
