Job
The role of Financial Controller will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:
* Lead strategic financial management and planning initiatives
* Prepare statutory accounts and oversee financial returns
* Manage cashflow forecasting and ensure VAT compliance
* Drive continuous improvements in finance systems, policies, and procedures
* Provide leadership in financial management and internal controls
* Represent the Finance team in internal meetings and with external bodies
* Support budget preparation and guide budget holders across the organisation
* Oversee procurement activities in line with public sector regulations
* Provide training and support to staff on financial procedures
* Collaborate on organisational change initiatives and system improvements
* Mentor and support a small finance and procurement team
You
As Financial Controller, you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:
* Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ICAS, or equivalent)
* Proven experience in financial management, statutory accounts, and audits
* Knowledge of financial reporting standards and public sector accounting principles
* Change management experience & the ability to implement new systems is desirable
* Advanced VAT knowledge is desirable
* Excellent communication and the ability to liaise with non-finance professionals
* Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
