Role Overview An opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Electrical Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning of electrical systems on a large-scale Data Centre Project in Newpor t. This role is to work for the general contractor. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and verification of all electrical commissioning activities, ensuring systems are delivered fully operational, compliant, and aligned with project specifications and client expectations. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules for all electrical systems including LV/MV power distribution, UPS, generators, lighting, fire alarms, and building management systems (BMS). Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end commissioning process from pre-commissioning through to handover. Liaise with project managers, design teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and the client to ensure a fully integrated and collaborative commissioning process. Ensure all electrical systems are tested and commissioned to meet industry standards and project-specific performance requirements. Manage documentation and reporting processes including test scripts, commissioning reports, progress trackers, and handover packages. Lead and attend regular commissioning meetings; provide technical updates, risk mitigation plans, and issue resolution strategies. Monitor quality assurance and safety compliance throughout commissioning activities. Support training, demonstration, and handover procedures with end-users and facilities management teams. Candidate Requirements Electrically Qualified Experience on commissioning L1-L3 Experience in electrical commissioning within a mission-critical environments (e.g, data centres, healthcare, pharma, or industrial). In-depth knowledge of electrical infrastructure including MV/LV switchgear, UPS, standby generation, control systems, and related commissioning protocols.
