SEN Teaching Assistant Yeovil | Part-Time Supply Opportunities | September 2026 Start (Earlier Starts Available) Flexible SEND Work Across Multiple Specialist Provisions Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work that fits around your existing commitments while allowing you to make a genuine difference? Teaching Personnel is recruiting skilled and dependable SEN Teaching Assistants to provide part-time supply cover across a number of specialist educational provisions in the Yeovil area. These settings support children and young people with a broad range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Speech and Language Needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges and complex learning profiles. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals seeking flexible employment whilst gaining experience across a variety of specialist settings. Due to the nature of supply work, we are specifically looking for individuals who can hit the ground running, quickly build rapport with pupils and confidently adapt to different environments. What the Role Involves As a Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, no two days will be the same. You may be supporting learners on a one-to-one basis, assisting small intervention groups or working alongside teaching staff within the classroom. Supporting pupils with personalised learning activities Encouraging communication, independence and engagement Assisting learners with emotional regulation strategies Supporting positive behaviour approaches Helping pupils access classroom resources and lessons Working collaboratively with teachers and support staff Providing personal care support where required Assisting with sensory activities and therapeutic interventions Recording observations and pupil progress Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment What We're Looking For Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND A minimum of 6 months' relevant experience Confidence working independently in unfamiliar settings Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A calm, patient and proactive approach A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners Experience within specialist schools, alternative provisions, residential care, youth services or SEMH environments would be highly advantageous.
