Essential Requirements
To be successful in this Learning Disability Support Worker role, you must have:
At least 12 months’ experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
• PMVA training
• Strong de-escalation and behaviour management skills.
• Experience promoting independent living skills such as routines and nutrition.
• Confidence using digital care planning systems for accurate record keeping.
• A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
• Eligibility to work in the UK (Right to Work documentation required)
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People or Adults).
Desirable Qualifications
• First Aid training or equivalent.
About The Role
Your Responsibilities as a Community Support Worker
As a Support Worker specialising in learning disabilities and complex needs, your key duties will include:
• Providing consistent, person-centred support to young people with learning disabilities and complex needs in their homes and local community.
• Planning and facilitating engaging, structured activities to build independence and social confidence.
• Supporting with daily living skills including meal planning, shopping, dietary needs and personal routines.
• Applying PMVA techniques and de-escalation strategies to safely manage challenging behaviours.
• Maintaining accurate and professional digital care notes, risk assessments, and incident reports.
• Collaborating with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs) to ensure positive outcomes.
