Precious Metals Coordinator We are seeking a highly organised and driven Precious Metals Coordinator to deliver an exceptional, bespoke inspection service for clients across a diverse range of precious metal-bearing commodities at locations worldwide. This is a dynamic and fast-paced role, requiring a proactive individual who can manage complex projects end-to-end while maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy and client service. You will play a key role in coordinating inspection activities, supporting commercial operations, and ensuring seamless delivery in line with both client expectations and company standards. Role Location: Prescot Shift: Monday to Friday (08:30 - 17:00). This role is office based, with the potential for hybrid working after six months. Contract: Full Time & Fixed Term (until September 2027) Hours: 37.5 Closing Date: Monday 27th April 2026 The Day to Day Manage projects on a day-to-day basis in close liaison with the assay department, taking full cradle-to-grave responsibility for each appointment Define service provision, including supervision and inspection protocols tailored to client requirements Assess company and client risk exposure, implementing measures to minimise or eliminate risk Coordinate inspection activities including weighing, sampling and shipment logistics Respond to enquiries and prepare bespoke quotations outlining service offerings Support Key Account Management and deliver a consistently high level of customer service Process sales and purchases in accordance with company procedures Assist with tender preparation and provide operational support to colleagues Report analytical results for commercial settlement purposes Maintain accurate database records in line with company standards Contribute to departmental quality of service and continuous improvement initiatives Provide data and reporting to internal stakeholders and senior management as required Monitor and report progress of inspection services to management Assist with dispute resolution alongside the Technical Coordinator Promote and adhere to health and safety policies and procedures Participate in physical operations where required to enhance operational understanding and provide onsite support Apply strong planning, analytical thinking and implementation skills to meet client needs Interpret data, make sound recommendations and contribute to operational improvements Identify, assess and manage risk across a variety of scenarios Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills in all interactions The Essentials Minimum of 2 years’ experience within an inspection services or commodities-focused environment Experience using Management Information Systems Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and to strict deadlines Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload Ability to coach and support the development of less experienced team members A collaborative, team-oriented approach to work Commitment to continuous learning and professional development Technology-aware with a focus on efficiency and process improvement Sound understanding of Quality Management Principles and ISO 9000 standards High level of professionalism, initiative and self-motivation Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills Results-focused with a commitment to achieving organisational goals Excellent written and verbal communication skills Our Benefits Include: Attractive Salary Private Healthcare Shift Allowance Discretionary annual bonus Life Assurance 25 days holiday plus bank holidays 6% employer pension Free parking Fully subsidised staff canteen Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
