Are you passionate about transforming what support looks like for disadvantaged individuals? We’re Caring & Sharing Rochdale (CAS), a grassroots charity making a big difference for asylum seekers, refugees, and marginalised communities. We’re looking for a Community Engagement professional to bring energy, compassion, and creativity to our hub in Rochdale. You’ll lead group sessions that spark connection and wellbeing, support older adults and carers, and help coordinate events that celebrate our community’s incredible diversity.
Contract details
* Contract Type: Part-time (20 hours per week)
* Duration: 12-month fixed-term contract (with potential for renewal)
* Location: 78 Yorkshire Street, Rochdale OL16 1JU
* Salary: £12,740 per annum
* Reporting to: Operations Manager
Key responsibilities
* Planning and leading group sessions that promote wellbeing, social connection, and physical activity
* Facilitating support meetings with a focus on emotional and mental health
* Providing practical help to older adults, especially those recently discharged from hospital
* Conducting wellbeing check-ins with isolated individuals (in person and by phone)
* Supporting the delivery of community events and outreach initiatives
* Building strong links with local organisations and service providers
* Maintaining clear records of support provided and contributing to monitoring reports

Preferred candidate profile
* Experience in community engagement, support work, or health and wellbeing services
* Confidence in leading group activities and creating inclusive, welcoming spaces
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently as well as in a team
* Understanding of the challenges faced by asylum seekers, refugees, and BAME communities (desirable)
