Overview
Solicitor/Associate - Court of Protection role with DAC Beachcroft Dublin. Department: Health Care and Public Law - Bristol. Employment Type: Permanent. Location: Bristol. The team provides legal advice and training to organisations in the health and social care sector, including NHS Trusts, independent sector providers, charities, commissioners and investors. The focus for this role is regulatory and advisory work with an emphasis on the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Court of Protection.
Responsibilities
* Handle a varied and interesting workload with an appropriate level of supervision.
* Act as a lead point of contact for clients, demonstrating knowledge and skill commensurate with experience.
* Communicate effectively with clients, courts and other stakeholders.
* Support marketing and business development activity within the team, e.g. attending marketing events and client training.
* Build awareness of the Firm\'s services and develop internal and external networks.
* Handle confidential information in line with the firm\'s data security protocols.
* Ensure compliance with DAC Beachcroft billing and credit control protocols and maintain a high level of financial management on own files.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* A qualified solicitor or barrister with experience in Court of Protection matters or related practice areas. A clear interest and enthusiasm to develop skills in this area is essential.
* Advocacy experience is an advantage (but training can be provided).
* Excellent relationship and client handling skills, with the ability to deal confidently with clients on day-to-day issues.
* Highly motivated with a commitment to delivering excellent service across complex legal issues.
* Ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an overly academic approach to legal issues.
* Team-oriented with willingness to share knowledge and support other team members.
