About the Role
We are a small, family-run two-bed residential home providing care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). The Waking Night Support Worker is a key safeguarding role, responsible for protecting and supporting vulnerable children during the night.
Your presence helps ensure that each child feels safe, monitored, and reassured, contributing directly to their wellbeing and emotional stability. This is a role where calmness, professionalism, and vigilance truly make a meaningful difference.
Responsibilities
* Maintain the safety, welfare, and security of children throughout the night
* Provide steady, compassionate support and respond confidently to any incidents or concerns
* Carry out regular checks and record all information accurately
* Follow established nightly routines and individual care plans
* Work closely with the daytime team to ensure consistent, high-quality care
Requirements
* At least one year of experience in residential childcare or EBD settings (preferred)
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent (preferred)
* Calm, empathetic, and observant approach, particularly under pressure
-Ability to stay alert, work independently, and manage responsibilities confidently
* Driving licence desirable
