About the Role
Reed Education are working with a specialist education provider in County Durham to recruit a dedicated and passionate SEND Teacher. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours, delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching within a nurturing and structured environment.
You will play a vital role in supporting pupils’ academic and personal development, using personalised learning approaches to help each student reach their full potential.
About the Setting
You’ll be working within a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for pupils from KS3 to KS5, including both residential and day students.
Based in a quiet rural location, the setting provides tailored support for each young person through Individual Education Plans and a differentiated curriculum. The focus is on meeting individual needs, fostering wellbeing, and creating a positive learning journey for every pupil.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons across a range of abilities
* Teach and support pupils from KS2 to KS4 with varying learning styles
* Develop and implement personalised learning pathways
* Support individual pupils and encourage independent learning skills
* Deliver lessons using a spiral curriculum approach, revisiting and deepening knowledge over time
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external professionals such as therapists and psychologists
* Create a positive, structured classroom environment
Subject Specialism
We welcome applications from teachers with a specialism in:
* Maths
* Science
Requirements
* QTS or QTLS (essential)
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a SEND setting or similar provision
* A strong commitment to supporting students with SEND
* Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
