HGV Sweeper Driver (Class 2)

Pay Rate: £15.88 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am - 4:00pm

Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Sweeper Driver (Class 2) to join a busy refuse and street cleansing operation based in Charnwood. This role involves driving and operating specialist street sweeping machinery, supporting refuse and recycling collections, and maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Drive and operate specialised street sweeping vehicles
Sweep designated road channels, footways, and public areas, removing debris, leaves, and litter
Carry out refuse and recycling collections as required
Demonstrate knowledge and safe operation of all machinery associated with the role
Assist refuse loaders on designated rounds to ensure routes are completed within service level agreements
Undertake all duties in a professional manner, using safe lifting and manual handling techniques
Use in‑cab technology and handheld/mobile devices as directed
Complete all required paperwork accurately and in real time
Carry out daily vehicle and machinery inspections before and after use, reporting any defects
Ensure vehicles and machinery are kept clean and well maintained
Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other road usersWorking Hours

Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving licence (maximum of 6 points)
Driver CPC qualification
Experience driving rigid vehicles up to 32 tonnes
Willingness to support the team by assisting refuse loaders when required
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic
Willingness to undertake a range of operational tasks as part of the role
Ability to work safely and follow health & safety procedures at all timesLicence Required
