Applications are invited for an Undergraduate Programme Officer to work within the Student Office in the Department of Computing to deliver an efficient and effective service to our staff and students.
You will provide support for the Department’s undergraduate (UG) administration, including all admissions and relevant examination processes, assisting the UG Admissions Tutor, Senior Tutor, Director of Undergraduate Studies and Examinations Coordinator. In addition, the post holder will provide an efficient and effective service to the staff and students of the Department, covering the full range of activities in the Student Office.
The post holder will be the main port of call for student services, supporting students with information and advice.
As the first point of contact for UG student services, you will provide information and advice to staff, students and other internal and external visitors to the Student Office. You will play a key role in UG admissions, processing UCAS applications, arranging interview days, and keeping track of offers made and accepted.
You will be responsible for maintaining UG student records, disseminating information to staff and students, and processing coursework. In addition, you will assist with the UG examination process, in liaison with the examinations team and external examiners, as well as coordinating departmental prize-giving, open days and taster days.
You will also be required to support other Teaching team members at busy times of year to ensure efficient service delivery, as directed by the Teaching Support Manager.
To apply for this role, you will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) or have a comparable level of professional experience.
You will have experience of working in a busy administrative role within an academic environment. You will manage admissions and examination processes and be able to handle confidential material at a senior level. You must be willing to work as part of a team and be an excellent communicator, as well as having the ability to produce quality work with accuracy and attention to detail.
To be successful you will be proactive and demonstrate initiative in carrying out your tasks.
