Staff Nurse, Willow A/B

The closing date is 25 July 2025

Band 5 Senior Staff nurse 172.5 hours per week

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic nurse to join our team on Willow A ward. Willow A is an acute ward, specialising in looking after renal/haematology and medical patients.

This is an exciting opportunity to come and join our area and ensure our patients receive the highest standard of care.

Healthcare Professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments, may access an agreed preceptorship period.

Main duties of the job

Willow A is a large renal/haematology/general medical ward based at the Cumberland Infirmary. Patients are admitted directly through the nephrology or haematology service. Patients are also identified from the medical admissions unit as well as step down patients from ITU/HDU. General medical patients are admitted via the medical admissions unit dependent on bed capacity. Ward staff provide outpatient facilities, both emergency treatment and as part of ongoing reviews, and an outreach service to other wards when required for renal patients needs.

You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care for renal, haematology and acute medical patients without supervision.
