To further strengthen our Ground Engineering team, we are looking for a Principal Tunnel Engineer to join us. You’ll be working on a range of both new and existing tunnelling and ground engineering projects in the UK and internationally.
Your key responsibilities will be:
1. Production of tunnel and ground engineering designs, assessment and checking work including preparation and checking of calculations, written reports, drawings, specifications and other contract deliverables
2. Supervising, mentoring and developing less experienced engineers, geologists and technicians within your project teams, working with line managers to maximise training opportunities
3. Assisting with the preparation of bids and tenders and supporting the pursuit of business development opportunities as required
4. Overseeing the delivery of your projects to time and budget, ensuring a high standard of sustainability, technical quality and compliance with our internal management systems

On top of that, you’ll have:
5. Achieved Chartered status either as an engineer or engineering geologist (CEng, CGeol, or equivalent)
6. Significant experience in a design environment working on tunnelling projects (including rock tunnelling projects) in the UK or internationally
7. Experience working in project teams and overseeing the delivery of projects, either as client's or contractor's designer
8. The ability to support, mentor and develop less experienced engineers and geologists
9. Good inter-personal skills and aptitude to work collaboratively in a diverse multi-disciplinary team
10. A deep understanding and passion for tunnelling, especially rock tunnelling
