Interim Estates Surveyor (Disposals)
📍 Somerset (Hybrid – 1–2 days onsite + site visits)

📅 6–9 month contract
A local authority in the South West is seeking an experienced Estates Surveyor to support a busy property team with a strong focus on asset disposals and transactions.
This is a key interim role within a strategic estates function managing a large and diverse portfolio of land and property assets.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of a varied caseload of property disposals and transfers, managing transactions from initial appraisal through to completion. This includes:
* Leading disposals of surplus assets across a diverse estate
* Advising on property values and disposal strategy
* Preparing Heads of Terms and instructing legal teams
* Managing agents and external consultants
* Supporting asset strategy and wider estate reviews
* Ensuring compliance with Section 123 (Local Government Act 1972)
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience as an Estates Surveyor within a local authority
* Strong background in property disposals / acquisitions / transactions
* Ability to manage cases independently from start to finish
* Experience working with legal teams, agents, and internal stakeholders
* MRICS (or working towards) desirable, not essential
Additional Info
* Hybrid working (1–2 days in office + site visits across the county)
* Full driving licence required
